About Zane Pretorius
Born in Kwekwe, Zimbabwe in 1973, I began creating art at age six, inspired by my grandmother. My journey spans sculpture, wood carving, bronze casting, and metalwork—always exploring simplicity and imagination.
My creative path led me from studying sculpture to crafting intricate wood carvings from centuries-old trees, and later to working with wax, resin, and bronze. Welding and metalwork followed naturally, combining technical skill with artistic vision.

“As I’ve grown older, I’ve found beauty in simplicity. My art reflects that pursuit – stripping away excess to reveal form, feeling, and space. I like to leave room for the viewer’s imagination, allowing each person to explore their own story within what they see.”
